Birgunj. Goods worth Rs 218.10 billion were imported through Birgunj border point in the first three months of the current fiscal year. Goods worth Rs 34.23 billion have been imported through Birgunj Customs Office till mid-September of the current fiscal year as compared to the last three months of the last fiscal year.
Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, said that the import of goods and goods has increased in the first three months of the current fiscal year. “Revenue worth Rs 58.23 billion has been collected from the import of goods worth Rs 218.10 billion through Birgunj border point in the last three months. In the same period of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 183.87 billion were imported.
According to the Customs Office, there has been a significant increase in not only imports but also exports through this border point in the first three months of the current fiscal year. In the first three months of the current fiscal year, goods worth Rs 26.58 billion have been exported.
In the same period of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 8.84 billion were exported to foreign countries. In terms of amount, the export in the first three months of the current fiscal year increased by Rs 17.75 billion compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
