Jenji agitation: Insurance companies claim Rs 23.25 billion, pay Rs 3 billion

Kathmandu. The insurance company has received a claim of Rs 23.23 billion due to damages caused during the GenG agitation on September 7 and 24. This amount is claimed by 18 non-life insurance companies.

According to NEA, 3,187 insured people have claimed for insurance companies. Out of the claims, the companies have paid Rs 2.79 billion. This amount is also for advance claim payment.

Of the claims received by 18 companies, only 15 companies have paid the claims. Three companies have not paid their claims. The insurance companies that have not paid their claims include state-owned National Insurance Company, National Insurance and Star Micro Insurance.

According to NEA, Siddhartha Premier Insurance has received the highest claim of Rs 5.49 billion. Out of which Rs 1.28 billion has been paid. The Oriental Insurance has a claim of Rs 5.24 billion. Out of which Rs 1.66 crore has been paid.

Similarly, Shikhar Insurance has a claim of Rs 2.41 billion. Out of which Rs 58.32 crore has been paid.

According to the NEA, Koshi Province has claimed Rs 31.84 billion out of claims of Rs 2.32 billion, Madhesh Province has claimed Rs 700.3 million and Rs 47.1 million has been claimed, Bagmati Province has claimed Rs 17.61 billion and Gandaki Province has claimed Rs 1.15 billion out of claims of Rs 1.69 billion.

Similarly, Lumbini Province has paid Rs 8.78 crore out of Rs 47.43 crore claimed, Karnali Province has paid Rs 90 lakh out of the claim of Rs 99.9 crore and Sudurpaschim Province has paid Rs 2.72 crore out of Rs 326 million claimed.

According to NEA, 673 property insurance companies, 2,270 motor insurance, 192 engineering and contractor insurance, 12 transport insurance and 40 other insurance policies have been demanded during the protest.
