More than 40,000 domestic and foreign tourists visit Mustang in 10 days

Mustang. More than 40,000 tourists have visited Mustang in the first 10 days of November. According to the District Police Office, Mustang, 37,146 domestic and 3,732 foreign tourists have entered Mustang via the Beni-Jomsom road, a national pride project, from October 15 to 23.

A total of 11,808 vehicles including bus, jeep, car, van and motorbike entered Mustang via the Beni-Jomsom road during the period, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Mustang, Tshering Kippa Lama.

Some of the 4,598 tourists who arrived in Mustang via Myagdi on October 26 have had difficulty in visiting Muktinath due to snowfall. Tourists visiting Mustang have been facing problem with rainfall and snowfall since Monday night.

Rabin Subedi, an employee of the Muktinath Temple Development Committee, said the devotees visiting Muktinath have been troubled due to the snowfall on the Kagbeni-Muktinath road section and the trekking route from Muktinath Bus Park to Muktinath Temple.

Cold has increased due to heavy snowfall in Muktinath area. According to Subedi, the Muktinath bath pond and 108 taps have been frozen causing obstruction in the religious activities of the devotees. A total of 159,467 tourists have entered Mustang via Beni-Jomsom road from July to October 26 this year.
