According to the board staffers, a police team had reached the Sebon premises before Shrestha reached the office. Shortly after that, the chairman reached the office at 11 am with the vehicle of the DSP of the District Police Range, Lalitpur.

“Shortly before the arrival of the chairman, the police had come to Sebon,” said an employee of the board, “Shortly after the arrival of the police, our chairman also came to the office in a vehicle at around 11 am.” A vehicle with a DSP came behind his car. According to the staffer, the police have escorted Shrestha to his office. The police of the board sat there for about 10 minutes. The police are said to have returned. The employees of the board have been protesting against the decision of the Ministry of Finance. All the employees of the board have been agitated due to the letter sent by the Ministry of Finance on September 2.

Employees are coming to the office and staging a sit-in at the main gate during office hours.

On September 18, the Ministry of Securities issued the Board Employees Welfare Fund Procedure, 2071 and Securities Board Employees Safety Fund (Operation and Management) Procedures issued in contravention of Section 22 and Section 116 of the Securities Act, 2063, Section 15 of the Legislation Act, 2081, the Government of Nepal (Division of Work) Regulations, 2074 and the Regulation 167 of the Securities Board Employees Service and Conditions Regulations, 2068. 2075 was sent a letter to be cancelled immediately.

The employees have demanded that the Ministry of Finance can raise questions about their work at any time, can scrap the bylaws, directives and working procedures made by them and that the letter of September 2 should be returned.
