Around 57,000 people are enrolled in health insurance in the metropolis

Kathmandu. So far, 56,673 people have been enrolled in the health insurance scheme in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

KMC spokesperson Nabin Manandhar said among them, 13,575 are senior citizens, 1,085 are people with disabilities and two are HIV positive. The metropolis started the health insurance programme from January 2080.

In the fiscal year 2081÷082, the metropolis provided health services to 194,193 people. Of them, 84,704 have taken the OPD service. A total of 30 health institutions have been registered and renewed under the health insurance programme this year.

The metropolis has monitored 120 health institutions. Spokesperson Manandhar shared that the metropolis has provided free treatment service to 210 people under the free treatment of the destitute, destitute and destitute. According to him, 26,019 tests were carried out under the non-communicable disease screening mega campaign.

The metropolis has also started video x-ray service from ward no 1, 8, 10, 12, 26 and 30. The metropolis has been providing health services to the locals by establishing health promotion centres in all 32 wards. Laboratory and physiotherapy services have been established in 31 wards of the metropolis.

Apart from the health promotion centre, the metropolis has one primary health centre, six safe abortion service centres, one alternative medicine and ayurvedic institute and one acupuncture service in the metropolis.
