Banke. Construction of a four-lane concrete bridge has begun at Pedari Nala of Khajura rural municipality-3 along the Nepalgunj-Gulariya road section. The bridge constructed six decades ago is narrow and dilapidated.
According to Krishna Pandey, information officer at the Postal Highway Directorate’s Planning Office, Nepalgunj, an agreement has been reached with the construction company for the construction of the four-lane bridge at the cost of Rs 896,03,468. As per the agreement, the project will be completed by mid-April.
He said that the old bridge would not be demolished for vehicular management until a portion of the bridge was constructed for one-way vehicular movement. The construction of the four-lane bridge will make it easier for the people of Banke and Bardiya to travel during the rainy season.
