Sindhuli. Vehicular movement has been prohibited on the BP Highway and the Mid-Hill Highway tonight today and tomorrow citing the possible risk of flood and landslide due to incessant rainfall.

Issuing a notice today, the District Administration Office, Sindhuli urged all concerned not to operate vehicles during the night for two days, citing the risk of flood and landslide has increased due to incessant rainfall.

A notice issued by Assistant Chief District Officer Anuj Bhandari said, “Vehicles heading to Kathmandu from Sindhuli via BP Highway have been prohibited from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am on October 29 and 28. ’

Saying the vehicles would be stopped at Khurkot bazaar during the period, Assistant Chief District Officer Bhandari urged one and all not to travel except for emergency work. He said the vehicular movement could be stopped at any place in case of heavy rain during the day in coordination with the security bodies.

“The purpose of stopping vehicular operation during night time is to ensure passenger safety and to prevent human and physical loss from accidents. Vehicles have been prohibited at night as the risk has increased in some sections of BP and Mid-hill routes,” said Laldhwaj Subedi, Chief of District Police Office.

He advised the passengers not to travel unnecessarily as there is a high risk of flood and landslide due to heavy rainfall and to travel only when the weather improves.
