Kathmandu. The government has revised the criteria related to visit visa. The Home Minister-level decision has removed various provisions of the visit visa and brought the easy provisions.

Earlier, the 6-point criteria applied to the visit visa have been revised. For this, the documents required earlier will no longer have to be shown. According to the immigration department, the criteria have been changed to come into effect from today following a ministerial-level decision of the Home Ministry.

Now there is no need to book a hotel to go abroad on a visit visa. Similarly, the criterion of $ 500 has also been removed. A 6-month valid passport, visa, ticket to the country of departure and self-declaration of citizenship will be required.

Earlier, a minimum of USD 500, two-way air ticket, hotel booking in advance or proof of sponsor’s license was mandatory for those going abroad on a visit visa. However, this provision has since been removed, the department said.
