Jhapa. A total of 317 new small and cottage industries have been registered in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/083.

Information Officer at the Cottage and Small Industries Office, Jhapa, Janaki Bhattarai, said 145 firms related to industry and 172 firms related to commerce were registered at the Office during the first three months. A total of 335 industries and 332 industries were renewed under commerce during the period.

Information Officer Bhattarai said that 63 industries including 38 industries and 25 commercial industries were scrapped in the district in the first three months of the current fiscal year. Information Officer Bhattarai said although the number of people coming to the office and shutting down the industries is low, many industries that have not been renewed have already closed down.

Information Officer Bhattarai said that the number of new industries is increasing compared to the number of closures due to various reasons. According to him, the office has collected revenue of 54,TAG_OPEN_span_8 39,200 under various headings in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2081/082.
