Myagdi. MYAGDI: The Beni-Darwang road section linking three local levels of western region with the district headquarters Beni Bazaar has been disrupted for the past three days.
Mangala, Malika and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities have been cut off from the district headquarters Beni bazaar since Thursday due to a landslide that occurred at Phaparkhet (Ghumaune) on the border of Beni municipality-4 and Mangala rural municipality-2.
Locals have been facing problems in reaching their destinations due to road obstruction. The supply of construction materials for hydropower, roads, buildings, transmission lines and substation projects has come to a halt. There is a problem in the transportation of daily consumables and the marketing of agricultural and livestock products produced in rural areas.
Transport entrepreneur Yagya Bahadur Thapa said that there is a high risk of road accidents as landslides are taking place on the road and landslides are taking place from above. There has been the problem of landslide in the area since the road was opened in 2061 BS.
The Infrastructure Development Office, Myagdi, which has been implementing the Beni-Darwang road upgradation plan, has said that the road will be opened by mobilizing equipment to clear the landslide as the rain has stopped since this morning.
