Tourist rescued after 3 days

Gorkha. A tourist who was seriously injured after being hit by a boulder fell from a cliff while on his way to Manaslu area was rescued by helicopter today. Minu Indra Lamsal of Jhapa, who was hit on his head by a stone while returning from Samagaun of Chumnubri rural municipality-1 on Thursday, was rescued after three days.

Chief Administrative Officer of Chumnubri rural municipality Manoj Lamichhane said the rescue operation was delayed as helicopter could not reach there due to unfavorable weather. The injured were airlifted to Kathmandu by Simrik Air helicopter this afternoon, he added.

Lamsal, who sustained serious head injuries, was receiving first aid at Bihi Health Post. Lamsal, 44, was critically injured when a rock fell from a cliff while returning from Samagaun on Thursday morning. He was accompanied by Bishal Lamsal and Dipendra Neupane, said Chief Administrative Officer Lamichhane.
