Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki, senior government officials and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal held a high-level meeting on the issue of dedicated feeder and trunk line charges.

Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal, Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, Industry and Commerce Minister Anil Sinha, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, secretaries and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Dhakal held a meeting on Monday to resolve the dispute.

As per the proposal discussed in the meeting, the power line will be connected immediately after the industrialists pay the amount equivalent to one installment of 28 installments given by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) as a deposit and not as a installment. After paying the bail, the industrialists will be able to go for review and seek other legal remedies.

While submitting the deposit to the NRA, the concerned industrialists can submit their disagreement in the same application mentioning the review and other details. FNCCI President Dhakal met with Prime Minister Karki, Finance Minister Khanal and other high officials on Sunday to resolve the problem. Immediately after that, the concerned industrialists were called to the federation and discussed.

During the discussion with the FNCCI president, the industrialists had said that an agreement would be reached if the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) accepted the disputed amount as bail and got an opportunity for legal remedy. Currently, the NEA has disconnected the transmission line for not paying the premium for the use of dedicated and trunk line of 23 industries.
