Kathmandu. Journalist and writer Sachit Rai has been honoured with the Citizen Honour 2082. Rabi Mahabhara Samaj Lalitpur honored him and social worker Amrita Rai on the occasion of the annual general meeting of the organization in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Sachit’s contribution to the society and nation through literature, education and communication has been highly appreciated, reads the letter of appreciation. His research-based work ‘Mangkhim’, poetry collection ‘Arko Bhram’, interview collection ‘Naya Nepal’ and music album ‘Purva Jane Ho…’ from Mangsebung Rural Municipality of Ilam Published. Sachit has been active in journalism for the past two and a half decades.
Amrita of Miklajung Rural Municipality, Panchthar has contributed to the society through her body, mind, wealth and work as an advisor and life member of the organization.
Chandra Prakash Thapa, advisor of the society, handed over the letter of appreciation to both the awardees. President Dilendra Mukarung Rai garlanded the occasion.
The annual general meeting of the organization also elected a new working committee under the leadership of Rekha Rai. Hari Dahal is the vice-president, Prakash Khadka is the general secretary, Roshan Bantawa Rai is the secretary and Jyoti KC is the treasurer.
Similarly, Kabiraj Rai, Lalita Angdambe Rai, Ganesh Rai, Kalpana Rai, Toya Bhattarai and Bhim Bahadur Tamang are the members of the Assembly. People from two districts who migrated to Kathmandu from Rabi Mahabhara area of Ilam and Panchthar are associated with this organization.
