Kavrepalanchok. Drinking water distribution has begun in the settlements of Banepa municipality-6 in Kavre. The ward office has started distributing drinking water under the ‘One house, one tap’ campaign under the slogan ‘Pure drinking water, life without water’.
The drinking water project will cover 760 families in the settlements of Ward No 6. An additional Rs 3.5 million has been allocated for the project from the municipal budget for the current fiscal year. According to ward chair Sachitananda KC, Rs 25 lakh has been allocated for the completion of the project along with distribution of drinking water and Rs 1 million for expanding the transmission line to the remaining Dandagaun.
KC said that the campaign of proportional distribution of drinking water has been started from the project. According to him, the project will cover the settlements in south of Araniko Highway, east of Silumarga, west of Khahare-Khola and north of Araniko Highway. The project has been made a source of deep boring and local water sources.
Meanwhile, a 17-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Bhairab KC for the implementation of the project. The committee said it would expedite the completion of the project.
