Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has arrived Doha today to participate in the Second Global Summit for Social Development to be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar from November 1 to 20.

President Poudel arrived in Doha of Qatar along with First Lady Sabita Poudel at the invitation of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar.

President Poudel was received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Ambassador Ramesh Chandra Poudel and other high officials at the Embassy of Qatar in Doha, Lok Bahadur Thapa, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, Lok Bahadur Thapa.

President Poudel is scheduled to address the main session of the Second World Summit for Social Development taking place in Doha, Qatar on November 3.

The President will also hold meetings with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the Summit.

The last conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995. The conference is expected to discuss the development inequality facing the present world, population imbalance and the impact of technology on society. President Poudel is scheduled to return home on November 20.
