Inland Revenue Office resumes services from Dharamshala

Dang. The Inland Revenue Office, Tulsipur has resumed its services from Trisiddheshwari Temple, Tulsipur.

Chief Tax Officer of the office, Shreedhar Tandon, said that the service was started from the office by renting 13 rooms of the Dharamshala. The office building was completely damaged in vandalism and arson during the Jenji agitation on September 23 and 24.

He said that all services related to taxpayer service and revenue have been started keeping the service recipients in mind. According to him, the office has been established at Dharamshala by making an agreement with the temple to pay Rs 75,000 monthly rent till the end of this fiscal year.

The office has more than 35,000 taxpayers from Dang, East Rukum, Pyuthan and Rolpa among other districts. Two buildings of the office and the officers’ quarters have been completely damaged in the agitation.

Similarly, two vehicles and all the furniture inside the office were also destroyed in the fire. The office has been operated from Dharamshala as the technical team suggested that the people should not stay in the building.

Prior to this, the office was partially operated from the office of the association provided free of cost by the Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry since September 21, but now it has been providing all services from the office by renting rooms in the dharamshala.

Some rooms of the buildings that were damaged during the Jenji agitation in the district have been repaired and they are providing services from those rooms. Some offices are also providing service by setting up small huts and tents on the office premises.
