Banke. The operation of auto-rickshaw in Narainapur rural municipality of Banke district has eased the mobility of the locals. The operation of auto-rickshaws has made it easier for Narainapur residents to reach their destinations.

Sohanlal Yadav, a resident of Gangapur in Narainapur-6, said the auto-rickshaw has put an end to the hassle of the locals of Narainapur in commute at other time though the bus ÷leaves the bus in the evening and morning. According to him, the auto-rickshaw brought into operation in Narainapur with the construction of Nepalgunj-Baghauda Postal Road has made it easier for the locals.

Narainapur is 44 kilometers away from the district headquarters Nepalgunj. Tika Budhathoki of Narainapur-5, Jamunigaun said that one can reach Nepalgunj in an hour by rickshaw these days.

“After riding in the rickshaw, the sun does not affect the rain, it has also saved time. Now it is easy to reach the destination”, he said, adding, “With the operation of auto-rickshaw in Narainapur, it has become easier for the locals to reach the district headquarters for daily work.” ’

Auto-rickshaws have eased the mobility in settlements in Gangapur, Matehiya, Kalaphanta, Laxmanpur and Katkuiya districts of Narainapur rural municipality. People who do not have private vehicles like bicycles and motorbikes have been able to travel from one ward to another in the rural municipality.

Children, people with disabilities, senior citizens and patients have been directly benefited after the operation of auto-rickshaws. Women, students, teachers and employees have also been using rickshaws. Budhathoki said that it takes 15÷20 minutes to walk for an hour.

Zakir Ali, an auto driver of Narainapur-1, said that he has been providing transportation service to the people by driving an auto-rickshaw and has been earning a good income in the village. A four-seater auto-rickshaw is charging Rs 250 per person from Suiya Baghauda to Nepalgunj and Rs 200 from Narainapur, the rural municipality centre Narainapur.
