Sub-engineer at the Road Division Office, Pokhara, Lokesh Poudel, said that the road had broken down and potholes in many places during the rainy season. “The road has deteriorated in many places this time and the tender process for regular maintenance has also been concluded”, he said, adding, “Repair work will be carried out in two sections—from Phedi of Kaski to New Bridge and from New Bridge to Maldhunga of Parbat.” He said that the Shivalaya Construction Service has been awarded the contract for the repair.
Sub-Engineer Poudel said that although the construction company was preparing to start the repair work before Dashain and Tihar, there was some delay due to rainy season and festival holidays.
He said that the office will take necessary initiative to expedite the repair work immediately. “It is impossible to construct roads in all places as the budget for maintenance is low,” he said. ’
