Bhadrapur. Agricultural products worth Rs 3.36 billion were exported from the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Center, Quarantine Office, Kakarbhitta in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
According to Chandreshwor Thakur, information officer at the office, cardamom, tea, ply, veniere, ginger, amliso, among others. Cardamom (Rs 1.51 billion), tea (Rs 75.66 crore), plywood (Rs 277.4 million), venier (Rs 272.8 million) and amliso (Rs 195.9 million) were exported during the first three months of the period.
Similarly, ginger worth Rs 119.9 million, fresh vegetables worth Rs 94.7 million, herbs worth Rs 12.4 million and lentils worth Rs 74.1 million were exported. According to Thakur, agricultural goods worth Rs 1.45 billion were imported from the eastern border point in the same period.
The main agricultural commodities imported in the country include potato, millet, legumes, pulses, rice, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, garlic, maize and animal feed. According to the statistics of the quarantine office, millet worth Rs 62 million, rice worth Rs 49.6 million and vegetables worth Rs 30.6 million were imported in the district.
Similarly, fresh fruits worth Rs 23.67 crore, garlic worth Rs 17.99 crore and potato worth Rs 30.77 crore were imported from the quarantine office.
