KMC to collect medical supplies to be distributed free of cost from Singha Durbar Baidyakhana

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to procure medicines and medical supplies to be distributed free of cost from the Ayurvedic and Alternative Health Centre (AICHC) from Singha Durbar Baidhyakhana.

KMC has already signed agreement with the municipality to supply Ayurvedic medicines at the cost price as demanded by KMC under the government-government partnership programme.

KMC Health Department Chief Deepak Kumar KC expressed his confidence that the distribution of Ayurvedic medicines under the basic health services would be easier in the coming days.

Programme focal person Gyan Bahadur Oli said the agreement has been forwarded to provide medicines designated by the government for free distribution from the Ayurvedic and Alternative Health Centre operated by the KMC.

Oli further informed that KMC has already established similar kind of collaboration with Nepal Drugs Limited as well. As per the agreement, the Vaidhyakhana has to supply up to 75 per cent of the remaining medicines within seven days of the date of order.

The same medicine would be distributed free of cost from the Ayurveda and alternative health centre. Similarly, Executive Director of Baidyakhana, Dr Pradip KC, said that the government was committed to fulfilling the demand being sensitive on the quality of medicines.
