. The Supreme Court (SC) has refused to issue an interim order in response to a writ petition filed by Hitendra Dev Shakya, the former managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

A division bench of Justices Abdul Aziz Musalam and Nripa Dhwaj Niraula refused to issue an interim order today.

After the preliminary hearing on the petition, the Supreme Court issued a show cause order summoning both the parties for discussion. Shakya had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding his reinstatement, arguing that the government had removed him from the post illegally.

After Kulman Ghising became the Energy Minister in the government formed on the strength of the Genji movement, the cabinet meeting on the recommendation of Shakya was removed from the post of Managing Director of NEA. Manoj Silwal has been appointed as the Managing Director of NEA.
