Baglung. Baglung Municipality has started blacktopping and demolition of 5 small roads in the municipality. The blacktopping and slope work has been started simultaneously with the aim of completing the road by mid-October.

The inner roads of Baglung Bazaar are being blacktopped due to dilapidated and dilapidated roads. The road from Army Barrack at Upallachaur of Municipality-4 to Red Apple Hotel has been blacktopped while the road is being constructed at Chasepani of ward-6.

Likewise, the municipality is preparing to blacktop the road from Hallan Chowk of Baglung Bazaar to Buddhabihar Chowk, blacktop the road from the traffic office to the municipality office and slope the road up to Deurali Chowk.

Municipality engineer Sobin Gharti said the municipality has also started blacktopping the road to fill the potholes in Baglung bazaar.

The municipality has signed a contract at a cost of Rs 10.8 million to repair potholes in the market area and to blacktop and slope five small roads. The municipality had signed an agreement with Leela Construction Service in 2082 BS to complete the blacktopping and casting by mid-November.

Preparations for the blacktopping had begun before mid-July but it was halted due to rains. The blacktopping will be carried out through this contract as potholes have appeared on various roads of Baglung bazaar due to blacktopping.

Although the municipality has been repairing and repairing potholes in the market area at a cost of Rs 10 million every year, the roads get damaged during the rainy season due to the narrowing of the drain. Basanta Kumar Shrestha, mayor of Baglung municipality, said that the municipality would start the export of goods to Baglung bazaar from this year.
