Illegal goods worth Rs 23 lakh seized in Rupandehi

Rupandehi. The District Police Office, Rupandehi has confiscated goods worth around Rs 23 lakh in two days.

According to Rupandehi Police, goods worth Rs 22,88,228 were seized during checks at different places of the district on November 7 and November 7.

The seized goods were sent to Bhairahawa Customs Office, Belahiya, Rupandehi on November 9 for necessary action, said Suraj Karki, Information Officer of District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office.

According to him, a team from the District Police Office confiscated goods worth Rs 125,800 including woolen ladies kurta, children’s socks, cap, trouser set, hoodie and jeans socks from Mainihawa of Rohini Rural Municipality-2.

Likewise, a team from Area Police Office, Butwal confiscated goods without invoice from a car with Indian number plate from Shankarnagar of Tilottama municipality-3. Police confiscated goods worth Rs 1,840,228 including a car.

Police also confiscated a laptop charger bag, a cow-shaped idol made of yellow metal, liquor bottles, mobile phone displays and displays of various companies and packets of gum from the car.

Likewise, a joint team deployed from Shivapur Police Post and Maryadapur Police Post confiscated goods worth Rs 322,200 including a motorcycle (Lu 22 Pa 1257), woolen ladies suit, woolen shawls, raw clothes, thick woolen suit and raw clothes from Gonaha of Mayadevi Rural Municipality-5.
