Ranjha Airport’s new terminal building constructed at a cost of Rs 3.75 billion

Banke. The construction of the new terminal building of Ranjha Airport in Nepalgunj has been completed two months ahead of schedule.

Chief of Ranjha Airport Terminal Building Project, Nal Bikram Thapa, said that the construction company which had started construction work from Poush 2082 BS was given three years to complete the construction by Poush 2082 BS.

He said that the project will be handed over by the construction side within a few days after the completion of the project work and an expert team of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) will carry out on-site monitoring.

Project chief Thapa said, “The service will start from a new one within 15 days by shifting the necessary equipment including X-ray machine from the old terminal building to the new one after monitoring by experts.” The terminal building constructed in Nepalgunj is suitable for domestic and international flights as it is built in accordance with international standards. ”

According to him, the terminal building was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.74 billion excluding VAT. The newly constructed terminal building has three floors with a semi-basement. The basement of which has been built for commercial purposes. There will be a total of 24 shops.

The terminal building has an area of 5,075 square meters and has 14 passenger checking rooms, three VIP rooms, a children’s playing area and separate rooms for customs and quarantine.

Separate departure and transit gates have been prepared for domestic and international flights in view of the possibility of international flights in ÷the future. The capacity of the newly constructed terminal building is 628 passengers per hour.

A five-to-14-metre wide road has been constructed inside the new terminal building along with a garden. A proper drain has been developed on the premises of the terminal building for drainage and drainage of excess water.

An apron has also been constructed in the new terminal building area. According to Thapa, there are three ATR-72 aircraft and 5 Twitter aircraft that can be parked at a time.
