Janakpurdham. Newly-appointed Chief Minister of Madhes Province Saroj Kumar Yadav is set to take office today.

Cadres affiliated to the opposition political parties have vandalized furniture and other materials of various ministries protesting against the appointment of Chief Minister. They have padlocked the ministries under the province.

Meanwhile, the opposition leaders and cadres have been chanting slogans against Province Chief Sumitra Devi Bhandari and the newly-appointed Chief Minister Yadav.

Protests erupted in Janakpurdham this morning after the news of the appointment of Province Chief Bhandari to the post of Chief Minister of the Province Chief of the CPN-UML.

Meanwhile, LSP Province Parliamentary Party leader Jenul Rain blamed the role of Province Chief Bhandari in the appointment of Chief Minister and said that they would defend the appointment of Chief Minister politically and legally.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Dhanusha, has clarified that it has been urging the protest programmes with restraint, was making maximum efforts to end the tense atmosphere and exercise restraint to prevent human and physical casualties.
