Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Traffic Police have made public six persons on charge of driving under the influence of drugs in Kathmandu Valley.
Spokesperson of the Kathmandu Traffic Police Office, Naresh Raj Subedi, said that six drivers were arrested on the charge of driving under the influence of drugs in course of routine checking conducted by the Traffic Police at Sukedhara, Kathmandu. The traffic police have been carrying out regular checks throughout the Kathmandu Valley.
The arrestees have been identified as Pathao motorcyclist Shekhar Nath Ghimire, 39, of Arjundhara Municipality-6, Jhapa, Sajid Ansari, 33, of Pachrauta Municipality-6, Bara, Suman Pariyar, 22, of Belkotgadhi Municipality, Nuwakot, Suraj Kumar Bajgain, 47, of Banepa Municipality-3, Kavrepalanchowk, Kapil Thapa, 32, of Thaha Municipality-4, Makwanpur and Bolero jeep driver Bhim Bahadur Khadka, 22, of Salyan.
The arrested have been sent to the concerned police office for further investigation, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office. Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Chief Nawaraj Adhikari said the traffic police are always actively involved in checking the drugs including the drugs and drugs and have urged the people not to drink alcoholic substance.
He said, “Drivers of public vehicles carry a lot of people, many lives are at risk if they drive drunk and reckless. We urge you not to do so, and action will be taken as per the law if you disobey. ’
