International Tax Conference to be held in third week of November

. KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Tax Consultants (NCFC) is organizing an international tax conference in Kathmandu from November 18 to 5.

Roshan Pokharel, president of the organizing organization, said that the conference is going to be organized with the objective of tax education and capacity building, policy dialogue and advocacy with government bodies and research and reform in tax sector.TAG_OPEN_div_23

“The conference will mainly focus on demonstrating the developed form of Nepal’s tax system, connecting Nepali tax entrepreneurs with international-level experts and promoting Nepal as MICE destination,” he said.TAG_OPEN_div_21 According to him, 350 international delegates and more than 200 tax professionals from Nepal, policymakers, government officials, businessmen and experts would participate in the conference.

The conference is expected to enhance the capacity of Nepal’s tax and financial professionals, exchange international practices on tax policy and compliance and promote communications.TAG_OPEN_div_19 Pokharel said that this would help promote foreign direct investment in Nepal and expand international cooperation in tax and investment sector.

The conference will discuss the historical development of the tax system of developing countries, challenges of implementation of tax policies in emerging economies, role of tax practitioners in global tax compliance, opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in tax administration, code of conduct and business responsibilities of tax professionals in developing economies.TAG_OPEN_div_17

A four-TAG_OPEN_div_15 hour long seminar on ‘Practical Aspect of Transfer Pricing’ will be organized on November 21 in collaboration with the Inland Revenue Department.

The conference will be conducted in coordination with Asia-Ocean Tax Consultants Association . Nepal Chamber of Tax Consultants was established in 2018. The organization has been carrying out tax policy studies in Nepal, promotion of tax experts, analysis of prevalent international tax practices, institutional development of tax practitioners and collaborating and coordinating with tax bodies.
