Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has signed an agreement with China Bank Note Printing to print 420 million units of Rs 50 denomination. According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, a contract agreement has been signed for the design, printing and supply of banknotes.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) had called for tender for printing and supply on 2082/04/09. According to the NRB, the value of the agreement is approximately 14.2 million US dollars. Prior to this, Nepal Rastra Bank had called for tender on July 25, 2025 through the national daily The Rising Nepal and the bank’s website.
Among the companies that participated in the bidding process, China Bank Note Printing and Minting Corporation was selected for offering the minimum price. According to the bank, the agreement was completed as per the Public Procurement Act, 2063 and Procurement Directive-2067.
