Humla. The district headquarters Simkot, Kharpunath and Simkot rural municipalities have remained dark since Sunday.
Chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Jitendra Shah, said that electricity supply has been disrupted in the district headquarters due to the disruption of power supply in Simkot Rural Municipality-4.
According to Shah, the power supply has been disrupted for the past six days as the intake and overflow of the powerhouse have to be repaired. The service is expected to come into full operation by Sunday as the power supply will not be available on Thursday as the repair work is ongoing. The service will come into operation only from Sunday as the cement plaster has not been confirmed in the powerhouse and overflow.
The NRA has apologized for not being able to provide service to around 2500 service recipients in the two rural municipalities until a week ago. Regular work of government and non-government offices in the district headquarters Simkot has been obstructed due to the disruption of power supply.
Service recipients have been facing problems as the recommendation from most of the wards of the local level has been stopped. All kinds of works have been halted due to lack of solar installation in the ward office.
