Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has urged officials at the Nepali Embassy in South Korea to work as guardians of all Nepalis in South Korea.
Inspecting the Nepali Embassy in Seoul, South Korea today, Minister Gyawali stressed the need to play an effective role in facilitating the rights, rights and problems of Nepalis there.
On the occasion, Minister Kharel also urged the ambassadors to play a role in creating an environment conducive for bringing investment in Nepal by further consolidating Nepal-Korea relations. According to Minister Kharel’s Secretariat, he urged the Embassy to play an effective role in expanding relations and cooperation between the two countries as well as to take initiatives for mutual interest and cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Dr Shivamaya Tumbahamphe said that effective works could not be carried out due to the limited number of employees and the dispute between some Non-Resident Nepal Associations (NRNA) and they are trying to draggle him into controversy. “I am committed to working for the rights and welfare of Nepal and Nepalis,” he said.
On the occasion, Minister Kharel drew the attention of the Embassy to take initiatives for the operation of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) flights to Seoul, South Korea. He also urged South Korea to take initiatives to resolve various problems Nepali workers were facing due to mental health. Minister Kharel also pledged to take initiative to send more human resources to the Embassy as per the quota.
He stressed that the embassy and diplomatic missions should give a message that Nepal has returned to the rhythm after the ‘Genji’ demonstration and the country is heading towards elections.
Minister Kharel had left for Seoul, South Korea on November 10 leading a Nepali delegation to participate in the 11th edition of Global ICT Leadership Forum held in Seoul.
