12 out of 14 insurance companies suffer losses due to Genji agitation

Kathmandu. The non-life insurance company’s profit has been badly affected due to the ZenG agitation on September 23 and 24. According to the financial details of the first quarter of the current fiscal year released by the non-life insurance company, 12 out of 14 non-life insurance companies in operation are making losses.

Due to the GenG agitation, insurance companies have had to pay a large amount of claims. Due to which the profit of the insurance company has been affected. Among the non-life insurance companies in operation, only Prabhu Insurance and National Insurance Company are in profit. The remaining 12 companies are at a loss, according to the company’s financial statements. During the review period, Prabhu Insurance earned a net profit of Rs 6.31 crore and that of National Insurance Rs 3.81 crore.

Siddhartha Premier Insurance has a net loss of Rs 29.85 crore in the current FY. Similarly, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance and IGI Prudential Insurance suffered a loss of Rs 28.48 crore, Rs 28.48 crore, Rs 26.73 crore.

In the first quarter of the current FY, Shikhar Insurance has a net loss of Rs 15.85 crore, United Ajod Insurance Rs 15.11 crore and Himalayan Everest Insurance Rs 10.93 crore. Similarly, Neco Insurance Company has posted a net loss of Rs 8.31 crore during the period.

Similarly, NLG Insurance and Nepal Insurance Company posted a loss of Rs 10.10 crore during the period. The state-owned National Insurance Company (RIB) has posted a loss of Rs 9.95 crore during the period.
