KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has stressed the need to take necessary steps to fully comply with the rule of law and ensure a peaceful and safe business environment. During a meeting with the office-bearers of the Commission of Inquiry 2082 on September 7 and 24 at the FNCCI secretariat today, the FNCCI apprised them of the wrongful infiltration during the Genji agitation and various attacks and vandalism on the private sector and its impact on the business environment of the country.
On the occasion, NHRC Chairman and former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki and its members inquired about the losses suffered by the private sector during the agitation and other miscellaneous issues. Informing about the losses suffered by the private sector, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that the state mechanism should play an effective role in ensuring the security of the private sector as it is the backbone of the country’s economy.
He stressed the need to take necessary steps to ensure full adherence to the rule of law and a peaceful and safe business environment in the days ahead. “The private sector should not work only for itself. It contributes to revenue and employment. The government, commissions, political parties and the general public also need to understand and understand that the private sector is the backbone of the economy. Dhakal said.
NHRC Chair Gauri Bahadur Karki expressed the belief that a factual report would be prepared by incorporating all aspects of the incident and the recommendations would be useful in policy formulation in the days ahead. He was of the view that the private sector was the driver of the economy and it was the responsibility of the state to protect this sector.
