Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government has arrested Durga Prasai to hide her misdeeds.

Speaking at an interaction programme on ‘Role of Local Level People’s Representatives’ organized by CPN-UML Local Development Department at Chyasal on Wednesday, PM Oli said that arresting people sleeping in the middle of the night by terrorizing them was an act against humanity.

Oli said that the government should not keep Prasai in detention as the National Human Rights Commission has already said that arresting Prasai on the basis of his statement is a violation of human rights.

He said that Durga Prasain had made the video public in the afternoon but was caught while he was sleeping at night. He asked. He said that the answer to the question is not to be withheld.

“The problem will not be solved by arresting her and shutting her mouth, I ask the government to release Durga Prasain immediately, can you arrest her just for speaking out?”
