Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has directed the government to expedite the process of making employees of the bodies under the Ministry of Communications compulsorily enrolled in the Social Security Fund.
Minister Kharel gave this directive in the meeting of the first quarterly review and ministry-level development problems resolution committee for the fiscal year 2082/083 held at the Ministry today.
Minister Kharel urged the government to make the public broadcasting qualitative, credible and effective. He stressed on the need for innovation and creativity in the content of PSB and improvement in presentation.
Minister Kharel directed the Telecommunication Authority and Nepal Telecom to achieve the expected results. He also urged the security printing centre to distribute the driving licenses to the general public as soon as it started printing them.
Minister Kharel also directed the bodies concerned to complete the process of making all the ministries of the federal government paperless by mid-January. He said that paperless is mandatory for digital transformation. Currently, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Communications have been made paperless.
Minister Kharel directed the bodies under the Ministry not to delay in providing services to the general public in a smooth manner. “I fully believe that there should be support from your side,” he said. In the next quarterly meeting, the bodies under the ministry should be productive and pleasant. The ministry will take initiative to facilitate the suggestions received. ”
On the occasion, Minister Kharel directed the Department of Information and Broadcasting to prioritise the pension programme of senior journalists. On the occasion, Ministry Secretary Radhika Aryal stressed the need to carry out activities being dynamic through new style and technology as the present situation has evolved due to weaknesses in government performance. He also instructed the bodies under the Ministry to increase capital expenditure, increase revenue income and settle arrears.
