Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered medical practitioner Durga Prasai to be present before the court within 24 hours.
A single bench of Justice Meghraj Pokharel issued the order in response to a writ petition filed by Prasai’s son Nirajan Prasain.
Police arrested Prasai from his private residence in Bhaktapur on Monday night. Prasain has been arrested on the charge of disturbing peace and order and further investigation is underway.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Valley, District Administration Office Kathmandu, District Police Range Bhadrakali, Police Headquarters Naxal, Ministry of Home Affairs Singha Durbar and Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers have been named as defendants in the writ.
