Jhapa. Two weapons looted from the Damak Area Police Office during the Genji agitation on September 9 and September 9 have been found in a cave in the forest at Miklajung rural municipality-3 in Panchthar district.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Jhapa, Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, said that one INSAS rifle with serial number 031102739 and one rifle with serial number 62038 were recovered from the police.
Police on Tuesday arrested 22-year-old Sushil Phiyak Limbu of Miklajung-3 from Damak-2 on the charge of arson and looting the Area Police Office. Based on Limbu’s statement, the arms were confiscated in coordination with Panchthar police.
Police have also confiscated one ammunition round of INSAS rifle and three weapons of SLR. Further investigation into the case of arms and ammunition is underway.
