Persa. Police have arrested a person with Rs 15 lakh.

Acting on a special tip-off, a joint team deployed from Dhore Police Post and Armed Police Force (APF) recovered Rs 1.5 million from the legguard of a motorcycle riding 34-year-old Awadhesh Patel of Pakhamainpur Rural Municipality-1 on Sunday.

According to Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson of the District Police Office, police confiscated 790 units of Rs 790,000 denomination and Rs 650,000 from his possession. Police also confiscated Rs 100 and Rs 50 in cash.

Spokesperson Basnet said that further investigation is underway under Section 125 (a) of the Civil Code, 2074 (prohibition of hundi transactions).
