Kathmandu. Two matches are taking place today under the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The first match will be played between Janakpur Bolts and Biratnagar Kings at 12:45 noon, while the second match will be played between the defending champions Sudur Paschim Royals and Karnali Yaks at 4:00 pm.

Biratnagar and Sudurpaschim are aiming to continue their unbeaten streak. In the first match, Janakpur lost to Kathmandu Gorkhas by 5 wickets. Janakpur will have a challenge to make a comeback against Biratnagar to claim the title.

Biratnagar is aiming to win the third consecutive match under the captaincy of Sandeep Lamichhane. Earlier, Biratnagar had defeated Pokhara Avengers in the first match and Kathmandu in the second match. In the inaugural match of the last edition of the tournament, Janakpur had defeated Janakpur by 8 wickets. Today, Biratnagar will have the intention of taking revenge.

In the second match of the day, Dipendra Singh Airee-led Sudurpaschim and Sompal Kami-led Karnali will face each other. Sudurpaschim, who was shocked in the final despite the best performance in the last edition, is in the race to win the title this time.

On the other hand, Karnali Province defeated Lumbini Lions in the first match of the tournament by defeating Lumbini Lions on Saturday. Karnali’s Mark Watt scored an explosive century to win the match by 9 wickets.

Karnali, which reached the playoffs by topping the run-rate last season, is looking for a smooth journey this time. In the last edition of the tournament, Sudurpaschim had defeated Karnali by 6 wickets. Karnali will not be in favor of repeating that defeat today. The tournament organized by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on November 17 will conclude on December 17.
