One-door system necessary for industrial development: Chair Dhakal

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has stressed the need of one-door system for industrial development.

Speaking at a programme organized by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies on the occasion of the 11th National Industry Day on Tuesday, Dhakal said that the industrialists and entrepreneurs have been facing problems due to various government structures for the same work.

“We have had a lot of government agencies doing the same thing. Instead of making the business environment easy and simple, the hassle and hassle are increasing. In this situation, unnecessary institutions should be reduced by making the one-door system effective. Dhakal said.

Stating that the economic situation of the country has become more complicated after the agitation of September 7-24, Dhakal said that personal and investment security should be given priority. Stating that the policy reforms undertaken by the Ministry of Industry and Supplies at the initiative of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in recent period were positive, Dhakal stressed on the effective implementation of the policies taken by the government.

Dhakal also stressed the need to give continuity to the cash subsidy given to Nepal’s export sector if the condition of export trade is not satisfactory. “The decision to suspend cash subsidy will have a serious impact on investment, exports and employment. If there is financial pressure now, let’s keep track of it and make arrangements to pay it later. But it needs to continue. ” he said. The Department of Industry had issued a notice in the month of Ajoj last year stating that it would not accept applications in the current fiscal year 2082÷83.

He stressed on the need of integrating internal capital along with foreign investment for the development of the country, infrastructure development and entrepreneurship development. “We have established Nepal Development Public Limited with a capital of Rs 10 billion at the initiative of FNCCI to support the government before the government talks about the Alternative Development Finance Fund,” he said. This will help in managing capital required for large infrastructure development and other enterprises. ” he said.

President Dhakal said that the government has set up the fund to encourage startups and innovation is a positive step and FNCCI is always ready for collaboration in the development of entrepreneurship and employment generation.
