Chitwan. Police have arrested 43 people involved in vandalism, arson and looting in different areas of the district during the Jenji agitation. The District Police Office, Chitwan arrested them on the basis of a complaint.

Information Officer of the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal said that action has been taken against them on the charge of criminal nuisance, theft, indecent behavior and drug abuse. He said that the arrestees have been remanded in custody and action has been taken against them.

Government offices, private houses and business establishments were torched, vandalized and looted during the protest. He said that those who infiltrated the agitation were arrested in order to bring them under the ambit of law.

According to the District Administration Office, Chitwan, 79 public structures, 16 private housing and business establishments and three party offices were vandalized and looted during the agitation.
