Kathmandu. The insurance company has received a claim of Rs 3.77 billion due to incessant rains and landslides since October 3.
A total of 744 insured persons have claimed the amount. According to the Insurance Authority, out of Rs 3.77 billion claimed, Rs 1.14 crore has been paid to the insured.
According to NEA, claims have been received from 13 non-life insurance companies and two micro non-life insurance companies. Insurance companies have started paying for the claims. According to the Insurance Authority, life insurance companies have paid Rs 6.4 million out of Rs 3.21 billion for 405 claims for property insurance and Rs 154,000 out of 104 claims for engineering and contract risk insurance.
Out of 210 claims of Rs 41.4 crore, payment has been made to 1 lakh insured people and 48 lakhs out of 2.82 crore claims under motor insurance (private) claims. According to the report, about 10 claims under motor insurance (public), about 12 claims of two claims under other insurance and about 10 claims of three claims under marine insurance have not been paid.
