NRNA announces 10 points of unification

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed regarding the unification of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). In the presence of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Mahesh Shrestha and Dr. Badri KC signed a 10-point agreement on the merger.

Among the points of agreement were Dr. Bhattarai who was elected from the 11th International Congress held on October 17-20, 2023. It will accept the working committee led by Badri K.C.

Similarly, former president of the association, Dr. The high-level committee formed under the leadership of Shesh Ghale will accept the elected working committee under the leadership of Mahesh Kumar Shrestha from the unity general convention held on May 3-4, 2025.

The 12th general convention of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) would be held within six months from the date agreed upon, and the term of the committee formed under the leadership of Mahesh Kumar Shrestha from the unity general convention held on May 3-4, 2025 would be considered as the full term.

As per the agreement, an 11-member steering committee will be formed comprising of non-candidates for the upcoming 12th general convention to conduct the 12th general convention in a transparent and credible manner.

Similarly, for the transparency and impartiality of membership registration system, a system management committee will be formed with all the powers of General Secretary Gauri Raj Joshi and Baburam Lama to manage the system.

Kul Acharya, Rabina Thapa, Dr. Kul Acharya and Dr. Kul Acharya were present during the 10th and 11th general conventions of the association. The working committees formed under the chairmanship of Badri KC, Binod Kunwar and Rajendra Kumar Sharma will be documented as former working committees.

On the occasion of the upcoming 12th General Convention, the general secretary and treasurer of the working committee elected from the 11th general convention submitted their reports and endorsed it by the general convention. Badri KC will hand over the unification to Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, who was elected from the general convention.

Likewise, the General Secretary and Treasurer of the working committee elected from the general convention of the Association will submit their reports and endorse them from the general convention while Mahesh Kumar Shrestha will hand over the responsibility of the working committee elected from the twelfth general convention.

All parties will withdraw the cases that have been filed in the court regarding the authenticity of NRNA or resolve it through mutual understanding.

The agreement would be signed in the presence of the representatives of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the agreement would be recorded at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the implementation would be carried out in accordance with the Statute and working procedures of the Union. If any dispute arises on any issue, it will be resolved through coordination and consensus with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All the points of this agreement will be endorsed by the next twelfth general convention of the association.

The NRNA has agreed to conduct an independent third-party audit to make the financial aspects of both sides transparent and trustworthy.

According to the 10th Agreement, the working procedure of the MoU will be prepared to be an integral part of the 12th International Congress and to ensure fairness, independence and fairness of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
