Kathmandu. The stock market fell on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. Today, the NEPSE index decreased by 26.91 points to close at 2,649.52 points. Likewise, the Sensitive Float Index decreased by 4.67 points, while the Float Index decreased by 2.06 points and the Sensitive Float Index decreased by 1.66 points.

Although the stock market has fallen, the volume of transactions today has increased compared to last Thursday. Shares worth Rs 6.66 billion were traded on Thursday, while shares worth Rs 7.08 billion were traded today.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of 11 sub-groups have decreased while the indices of other sub-groups have fallen. The production and processing and mutual fund sub-group indices increased slightly on the day. The index of the investment sub-group decreased the most by 1.48 percent today. Likewise, the indices of banking, development bank, hydropower, life insurance, microfinance and other sub-groups saw a decrease of more than 1 percent each.
