Kathmandu. There is huge potential for tourism promotion through naturopathy in Nepal. Speaking at a programme organised by Nepal Association of Tour and Travels Agents (NATTA) in collaboration with the National Productivity and Economic Development Centre Ltd. and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), the speakers said that wellness tourism plays significant role in tourism promotion of Nepal.
On the occasion, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Jitendra Basnet, said that wellness tourism was being developed in a rapid manner across the globe and there was huge potential of it in Nepal. He said that wellness tourism would help a lot in the development of Nepal’s tourism sector.
“There are immense possibilities of tourism promotion through yoga and meditation in Nepal, where Mt Everest and Buddha were born,” he said. He said that with the development of wellness tourism, unemployed youths and women will get employment easily.
NATTA President Kumar Mani Thapaliya suggested that Nepal’s travels and tour companies should contribute to promote wellness tourism in the world. He said naturopathy tourism was growing at a rapid pace across the world. He said that Nepal is a country rich in natural and cultural heritages and wellness tourism could lead the entire Asia.
