Jhapa. In the first four months of the fiscal year 2082/83, goods worth Rs 16.02 billion were imported from Kakarbhitta.
According to Mechi Customs Office’s information officer Ishwar Kumar Humagain, goods worth Rs 14.28 billion were imported in the same period last year.
However, exports from this border point have decreased in the first four months of the current fiscal year as compared to the last fiscal year. During the period, goods worth Rs 7.96 billion were exported. In the same period of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 8.30 billion were exported.
Cardamom, tea, plywood, veneur sheet, chhurpi, amriso, ginger, dry grass, lentils, iron sheet, among others are exported from Kakarbhitta. The office collected Rs 5.46 billion in revenue from import and export in the first four months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
