Minister Ghising directs to construct 70-meter-long bailey bridge

Kathmandu. The installation of a bailey bridge (iron bridge) at Khaireni Ghat of Sunkoshi River on the border of Sindhuli and Ramechhap districts has begun.
{{TAG_OPEN_div_22} Floods in Roshikhola and Sunkoshi rivers triggered by heavy rains in September last year damaged the concrete bridge at Khaireni Ghat near Nepalthok. A 70-meter long bailey bridge will be installed at the place. The single-lane bridge has a load bearing capacity of 20 tons.
The Bailey Bridge was provided by India at the request of the Government of Nepal for the regular operation of the road network damaged by the disaster.TAG_OPEN_div_21 One of the 10 Bailey bridges provided by India is going to be installed at Khaireni Ghat.
Bailey Bridge has been transported to Khaireni Ghat. Technicians have already reached the construction site from India for the installation. The flood had damaged the road leading to the bridge. The track of the road leading to the site has been opened.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising on Thursday inspected the Khaireni Ghat area and took information about the installation of Bailey Bridge.TAG_OPEN_div_17
On the occasion, Minister Ghising has directed the authorities concerned to complete the installation of the Bailey Bridge at the earliest as Sunapati, Khandadevi, Doramba of Ramechhap and Chauri Deurali of Ramechhap have been cut off due to the damage to the bridge.TAG_OPEN_div_15
