Jhapa. In the first four months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, petroleum products worth Rs 6.02 billion were imported from Kakarvitta, the eastern border point.
Petrol, diesel, LP gas, ATF and kerosene worth Rs 6.02 billion were imported from the country.
According to Ishwar Kumar Humagain, information officer and customs officer at the Mechi Customs Office, the import of petroleum products has increased by 119.254 million or 2.01 per cent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Information Officer Humagain said that revenue from petroleum products has increased by 2.90 percent or Rs 84.122 million.
In the first four months of the current fiscal year, revenue of Rs 2.96 billion has been collected from the import of petroleum products. A total of 35,156 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 3.10 billion was imported in the review period. Similarly, 18,408 kilolitres of diesel worth Rs 1.74 billion was imported.
Likewise, 8,557 metric tonnes LP gas (Rs 826.3 million), 2,908 kilolitres ATF (Rs 263 lakh) and 508 kilolitres kerosene worth Rs 46.1 million were imported in the first four months of the current fiscal year.
