NEA gives permission to export additional 35 MW electricity to India

Kathmandu. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has granted permission to India to export additional 35 MW of electricity to India. The NEA will export 24 MW power from Seti River Hydropower Project and 11 MW from Upper Tadikhola Hydropower Project to India.

The Central Electricity Authority (CEA), the designated authority of India, has given permission for the export of goods on December 1. According to NEA Spokesperson Rajan Dhakal, the NEA has exported electricity to 1200 MW in India alone.

NEA has been exporting 40 MW of electricity from two hydropower projects to Bangladesh and an agreement was reached to export additional 20 MW during the bilateral talks held recently.
