Kathmandu. The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has said that taxpayers will be assessed only on the basis of risk.
The commission said this while issuing a notice. According to the Commission, the full tax audit is being carried out regularly in various taxpayer offices and internal revenue offices under it.
According to a press release issued by the department, the tax examination process for the current fiscal year 2082÷083 is being conducted regularly. The department has made it clear that it has decided to carry out full tax audit work in large taxpayers’ offices, medium level taxpayers offices and internal revenue offices as part of the program for this fiscal year.
The department has provided necessary information to the concerned taxpayers based on Section 74 (1) (e) of the Finance Act, 2082 and Section 35 (c) of the Value Added Tax Act, 2052.
The audit will be carried out on the basis of tax details and audit up to the fiscal year 2078÷79 BS.
Stating that some taxpayers have created confusion about the full tax examination in the information received, the Department has reminded that the tax examination is a completely routine process and all taxpayers should provide the necessary documents and details.
