Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has said that Nepal’s economy would not pick up pace if the government and private sector did not work together.
He said this at the 16th annual general meeting of the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ). “As long as the private sector is not taken along, Nepal’s economy cannot be taken forward,” he said, adding, “This has already been proven.” ’
He stressed the need to change the attitude towards the private sector. He also said that Nepal should pay attention to this as it is lagging behind in the economic agenda.
He complained that we don’t even have a collective approach. “If we don’t do that, we won’t be able to get the real results we want,” he said.
He said that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has been working to break the propaganda that nothing could be done in Nepal. “A lot can be done by mobilizing internal capital. We have given a message to the private sector to do something in Nepal by breaking the message that nothing can be done in Nepal,” he said.
He said that the private sector has also demanded good governance as demanded by the Genji movement. After the agitation, the private sector is excited as the issues demanded by some private sector have changed and are in the process of being changed.
He also complained that the decision is in the hands of the CEO, so the work is done according to their wishes. Chairman Dhakal said, “If the CEO wants, he can persuade the chairman to endorse it in any way.” But if the CEO doesn’t want to, he doesn’t want to pass anything. This kind of activity is everywhere. ’
He also informed that FNCCI has been carrying out various activities at home and abroad to promote investment in Nepal.
